Tired of Looking Tired?

Tired of Looking Tired?

Do you ever find that some days or weeks you're glowing, your skin looks great, no dark circles or heavy lines? Other days you feel as if you've aged about 42 years overnight? If that's you, then here are some reasons why - and some low cost, easy solutions...

1- Dehydration - This reduces skin elasticity, accentuates fine lines, and leads to dull, tired-looking skin, making you appear fatigued even when you're not. This is because of reduced blood circulation from lack of water. Which in turn causes paler skin and darker under-eye circles. Additionally, lack of moisture decreases skin elasticity, making fine lines and wrinkles more prominent. This combination leads to a dull, fatigued appearance.

Easy solution - Get those 8 glasses of water a day! Although, UV exposure & alcohol also play their part in dehydration

2- The Slow Down of Cell Turnover - A slow cell turnover rate makes you look tired because dead skin cells accumulate on the surface, leading to a dull, uneven complexion. This buildup reduces skin brightness and smoothness, making fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles more visible. Additionally, slower regeneration hinders the skin’s ability to repair itself, contributing to a more tired looking face.

This is the reason why Mizu has 100% RDI of Zinc & Retinol (Vitamin A) - to help us look less worn out! Vitamin A regulates the genes involved in skin cell production & supports faster shedding of old cells, which encourages the formation of new ones. This helps maintain a healthy, radiant complexion and can improve skin conditions like acne and dryness. Zinc plays a crucial role in DNA synthesis, cell division, and tissue repair. It also helps with faster wound healing and maintains the skin's structural integrity. This aids in faster skin renewal and reduces inflammation, making the skin appear healthier and more resilient.

3- Lack of Sleep - Like dehydration, this reduces blood flow to the skin, causing paleness, accentuating those pesky dark circles & causing puffiness under the eyes. It also impairs skin repair and collagen production, leading to a dull, tired appearance and more visible fine lines.

Solution - We know 'Get more sleep' is easier said than done, that's why we've written other posts on this topic.

4-  Poor Lymphatic drainage - Sounds sexy doesn't it... in short, poor circulation around the face can cause fluid retention and toxin buildup, leading to puffiness and a tired appearance, particularly around the eyes. This can be caused by poor diet, stress, lack of sleep, dehydration (all of the above), plus lack of exercise or movement in the face.

Solution - Did someone say spa day... no, this is about low cost solutions. Whilst no one is saying give up that Friday night takeaway, a consistently poor diet starts to show on our face, as do other bad habits. Small tweaks to our lifestyle habits can all help, in many ways. Plus a bit of face yoga can do wonders, plus aid relaxation.

However, if you're looking for an easy way to boost that cell turnover, get a kick of hyaluronic acid, retinol, biotin & zinc - Mizu's your best bet!

We hope this helps & thanks for reading!
